What is Bridging Insula Europae?
Starting from the results of the project Insula Europae the partners of Bridging Insula Europae wants to develop a didactical model inspired by active ICT-mediated learning.
The results of Bridging IE can be useful for actors of the educational system in Europa for finding innovative methods for teaching, with more participation and better motivation of the students.
The project was started in 2007 and it comes to an end in 2009. Bridging Insula Europae focuses on ICT tools that are economically, financially and technologically sustainable for schools. Villa MontescaBrIE
They also focus on dissemination of the results: methodology, model, multimedia.
Teacher training is also very important: they want teachers to become more flexible, so that they can cope with the fact that society and the educational process are complex and unpredictable.
Objectives: Active learning, cooperative learning, learning by doing with a student-centered approach; target group of schools with students at the age 14-19.
Students should have knowledge and competencies needed to become European citizens. They need to be flexible, to have responsibility. They need to be prepared for a multi-etnic and multicultural society.
ICT skills of teachers: there is a risk for teachers that their ICT skills are not updated according to the level of the media and ICT skills of students.This is one aspect of work for Bridging Insula Europae.
